I received a BA in Fine Arts from the University of Kentucky. My unique style and contemporary flare opened up the opportunity for me to be one of a few undergrad fine arts students to have solo art exhibitions during their collegiate years. After college, I returned to Louisville, Kentucky where I worked as an artist and associate of E&S Galleries, one of the prestigious African American Art Galleries in the country. I eventually moved to Orlando Florida where I worked at Walt Disney World before returning back to Louisville to pursue my vision in hip-hop/urban art.
I specialize in fine and two-dimensional arts. My works mostly consist of chalk pastels on suede boards and acrylic on canvas. During my tenure at E&S Galleries, I also studied the intricate art of picture framing and began to incorporate framing with my unique style. Ultimately, this allowed me to have complete control over the presentation of my work.
Recently, I introduced “Mama Makin’ Rice”, which included a new reproduction method called the “artist enhanced giclee digital reproduction”. This method involves creating a giclee reproduction of the original artwork to use as a base for the artist to perform original enhancements using paint. While the base of each reproduction is the same, the painted enhancements make each an original work of art! A number of major arts have showcased my original works including New York’s Art Expo and Oprah Winfrey’s First Annual Art Exhibition.
Artbyrice are not only aesthetically pleasing work, but they enrich and educate lives. Each unique piece tells a story and reflects where I am personally, artistically, and spiritually. Your participation in purchasing my art enables me to continue creating visual testimonies of GOD’s power and the world around us.
